Learning the Lessons from Health and Safety Incidents and near-Events
- A workshop organised by the BWEA H&S Lessons Learnt Database Group |
A pre-conference workshop was to held to help BWEA members learn the lessons from incidents and near-events by:
- assisting the improvement in their understanding of incident investigation
- understanding the benefit this brings to their own business
- encourage more consistent and comprehensive reporting helping the BWEA lessons learnt database to guide concerted action on safety across the industry
The workshop comprised of two group exercises to demonstrate the benefits of meaningful narratives; effective incident investigation; compilation of the incident notification form and understanding of potential impact. A final session was aimed at an inward look at the industry methods for learning from incidents, common underlying causes and potential improvements to the BWEA lessons learnt outputs.
