Wind farm visit and planning seminar for Scotland

This year we will be holding a 2 planning seminars in Scotland with the first one occurring on Tuesday 14th June at the Fife Lodge Hotel in Aberdeenshire. The event will also include a visit to Boyndie Airfield Wind Farm. It will be bought to you by RenewableUK and Falck Renewables.

Morning Session: The day’s events will start with a series of presentations covering the strategic drivers for wind energy, details on the economic benefits of wind energy developments locally and an overview of key changes to the planning system for renewable energy projects. Presentations will specifically include:
- Onshore Wind in the UK – An Overview
- Small Wind Systems – Local and National Benefits
- Planning – Recent Changes and Future Developments
- Community Involvement – Seeing the Benefit.

Lunch & Wind Farm Visit: After a complimentary lunch there will be a visit to a local wind farm for attendees to see first hand an operational wind farm and allow them to learn more about the operational aspects of the technology from site managers.

Afternoon Session: This interactive session will enable participants to explore the development process from a different perspective, while balancing the various economic, social and environmental issues facing developers, decision makers, consultees and other stakeholders in developing wind projects.

Wind farm visit
During the day, we will take you to visit Falck Renewables Boyndie Airfield Wind Farm. The wind farm comprises 8 wind turbines generating 16.30 MW of electricity. This can support 8500 homes.
