PlanningTree WorkshopLimited ability of suitable land has led to wind farm developers seeking to site turbines in the vacinity of trees. Forests have a strong influence on mean wind speeds and turbulence levels, and so cannot be ignored when designing wind farms. Modelling the influence of forest on wind flow presents a new challenge to the industry. The 'One-Day Workshop on the Influence of Trees on Wind Farm Energy Yield' brought together leading academics, developers, consultants, and manufacuers. The event provided a constructive platform for delegates to share experience and exchange ideas. PDF files of the papers presented at the conference are available below. These are mostly around 1 MB. BWEA wishes to thank all the contributors for their hard work in making the event such a success. Opening Address
