OWEN

Actively supported by BWEA

The Offshore Wind Energy Network (OWEN) is a joint industry/academia collaboration. It promotes research on all issues connected with development of the UK's offshore wind resource and encourages co-operation and partnership between commercial organisations and researchers.

OWEN promotes research on all issues connected with development of the UK offshore wind energy resource (e.g. shallow water foundation design, submarine cabling, power systems, product reliability, impacts on the coastal zone etc.).

Registered members of OWEN benefit from a number of co-ordinated activities including regular workshops. Furthermore, relevant information is distributed to its members via this web site and an email discussion list.

The Network is guided by a small Steering Committee, which sets Network policies and organises its activities. The steering group is drawn from industrial groups and university departments as well as representatives from FES and the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA).

OWEN is financially supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and has been greatly aided by the active encouragement and participation of the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA)
