BWEA 28: a huge success!

The biggest ever conference and exhibition in the UK organised by BWEA

The biggest ever conference and exhibition in the UK organised by BWEA, attracted over 2000 people to the SECC in Glasgow, 10-12 October, from conference delegates, exhibition staff and visitors, and all the leading players in the wind, wave and tidal sectors.

150 speakers took to the platform, from energy and environment ministers to champions of industry, to highlight the urgent need to invest in wind, wave and tidal power and the opportunities this will bring to the UK, and to address the remaining barriers facing the continued growth of the industry.

This is an exciting time for renewable energy, with the firm belief that renewable energy is not only capable of meeting government targets, but could also beat them, especially in the onshore wind sector, which could meet up to 50% more than previously anticipated.

BWEA and it's members showed a stout determination to drive forward change, especially on issues of planning and grid, and with government backing and the support of three quarters of the general public, the future is looking promising and much more sustainable.
