RWE npower renewables is one of the UK's leading renewable energy companies, with a large portfolio of operational wind farms throughout the UK and a significant pipeline of projects in development to enable the companies’ ambitious growth targets to be realised. This role will offer you the opportunity to work from our office in Mid Wales where you’ll be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a portfolio of onshore wind farms in excess of 200MW which, are expected to grow significantly over the next few years. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager South, you’ll manage onshore wind farms in the South, act as a line manager for a regional operations team, and be in charge of all aspects of operations and maintenance of the onshore wind farm fleet. Focusing on Health, Safety and environment management, you’ll also deliver commercial targets based on revenue optimisation, monitor and report on wind farm performance, and handle contract management. In addition to this, you’ll also liaise with landowners and other key stakeholders as well as regional operations teams. Along with an appropriate engineering or technical qualification to degree level, and a strong commercial focus, you’ll have significant experience in managing teams in an O&M environment. Contract management is an essential requirement for this role and a proven history of maintenance management that includes the development of maintenance/service strategies in a relevant industry such as the energy sector, would also be an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate well with internal project development staff, contractors, landowners and the public is also vital to this role.
