RenewableUK HR Forum Inuagural Event

RenewableUK was pleased to present the first ever Human Resource Forum event for specialists working in wind and marine energy businesses in the UK. The inaugural event of the RenewableUK HR Forum took place on the 3rd of June at RES Head Quarters and attracted good representation from across the RenewableUK membership. 45 delegates were present on the day, from 30 companies – spanning small wind, large wind and marine energy businesses. The event was opened with a keynote address from Dr Ian Mayes, CEO, RES Group Ltd and Maria McCaffery, CEO, RenewableUK. The presentations and workshops led by guest speakers with expertise on Leadership Management, Reward and Retention and Psychometric Testing. The interactive sessions and the networking opportunities from the inaugural event reportedly left delegates informed and enthusiastic about developing an ongoing series of activities for the benefit of HR professionals in industry.

Going forward it was suggested that RenewableUK will organize 2/3 main events during the first year of the Forum. The HR working group will expand to take leadership on coordinating the future of the Forum. There were no objections to the draft terms of reference for the Forum.

The inaugural event was just the start of the development of the Forum; you can actively help drive our thinking on how the forum should function in the future even if you could not make it just get in touch.
