Consultation proforma for enquiries on all new wind energy developments

Following discussions throughout 2001 by the DTI-led ‘Working Group for Wind Energy, Defence and Civil Aviation Interests’, a consultation proforma was agreed between the BWEA and key Aviation issue consultees such as the MoD, NATS and CAA. Since this was started resource limitations mean that only the MoD is currently responding to proforma. It is in the interests of all developers to use the proforma when making enquiries to ensure that consultation responses are able to be dealt with quickly and consistently. Developers who don't will be likely to be directed to it by the MoD with subsequent delays.

Whilst it is recognised that all the information requested in the proforma is unlikely to be available for early site consultation, developers are nevertheless urged to supply as much detail as possible and to double check the information before submission. Those not completed in full are likely to be returned. Please take extra care to ensure both grid references and latitude/longitudes are provided. If you only have access to either a grid reference OR a lat/long, then please use the Ordnance Survey Coordinate Converter by following this link: www.gps.gov.uk

Developers are reminded that responses from the MoD that are more than two years old should be treated with caution and it is advised that an updated response (using the proforma) should be sought.
