BWEA Connect - The networking event for renewables in the UKThe event brought together all those interested in the renewables sector. Despite the tube strikes it was a successful evening with roughly 100 people in attendance. The event began with workshop held by Gordon Edge on the Renewables Obligation reforms, which provided an opportunity to examine in detail the reforms and the effect it will have on the industry. It was attended by a wide range of companies who had a lively and interesting debate. Click here to view the presentation. (PDF format) Following the workshop, Chris Tomlinson, Director of Programme Strategy, welcomed all to a networking reception, and introduced William McKeever of Bloomberg. The tone of the evening was positive, as the inclusion of UKWED information onto the Bloomberg site demonstrates the move to a mature industry. Bill provided a brief introduction to the UKWED data that is now live on the Bloomberg's internal financial information pages which this will be expanded in due course and made live to their members shortly (link provided when available) There has been much positive feedback from those who attended and lots of interest in the next in the series of quarterly networking BWEA Connect events. We hope that they will become a must for those in the industry and a way for those who are not directly linked to renewables to gain some knowledge and network effectively. This series of events are new benefit of BWEA membership, linked to this is the opportunity is available for you to invite non-members to these events. Non members will be able to attend one event, subsequent to this that attendance at future BWEA Connect evenings is dependent on them joining the Association. Please contact Alice Gill (details below) and provide contact details and they shall be invited accordingly.
