BWEA28: Securing Our Future10-12 October 2006, SECC GlasgowExhibition120 companies active in the wind, wave and tidal energy industry exhibited at BWEA28, making this BWEA's largest exhibition to date. Exhibitors included wind turbine manufacturers, marine device manufacturers, developers, contractors, consultants, suppliers/services companies, electricity generators, utilities, financiers, insurers, component/materials manufacturers, and research/academic institutions. The accompanying conference addressed all the up-to-the minute issues affecting onshore wind, offshore wind, wave and tidal energy and small wind systems. The exhibition was the largest of its kind in the UK and is organised by the industry, for the industry. All proceeds from BWEA events are generated back into developing wind, wave and tidal energy in the UK. Shell Scheme or Space Only?'Shell scheme' is the term used in the exhibition industry referring to exhibition stands that come ready prepared for exhibitors. At BWEA28 a shell scheme or full service stand includes walls, carpet, 2 spotlights, 1 electric point, 1 table, 2 chairs and your company name board above the stand (per 9 square metre stand). This is what most exhibitors opt for. Companies booking large exhibition stands may prefer to construct their own stand with a unique design. NB. All prices are per square metre and are exclusive of VAT. The standard rate applies to stands booked after 1 June 2006. Member rates apply to those companies who have paid a direct membership fee to BWEA in order to be a fully paid member up to and including 10-12 October 2006.
