It was no coincidence that this event was held in Scotland as it remains the powerhouse of renewable energy generation in the UK. This was the largest wind, wave and tidal energy event in the UK, and over 2,000 industry representatives attended the conference and exhibition. The conference focused on the remaining barriers to renewable energy deployment and the opportunities for UK business once those barriers are removed. The sector is growing fast and ready to deliver a fifth of our electricity by 2020.
The timing of BWEA28 led to stimulating debate around the implementation of policy and initiatives resulting from the Government’s Energy Review. Delegates were keen to debate how they could contribute to the Government’s vision of a sustainable, secure and affordable energy supply.
