BWEA25 - Wind Connections

Our best year ever - again! 772 people joined us in Glasgow to celebrate 25 years of BWEA and the UK wind industry at our largest ever conference and exhibition.

BWEA25 was held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow from the 28-30 October 2003.

Programme

Keynote sessions at BWEA25 included two Ministers (Stephen Timms and Lewis Macdonald), along with speakers from DTI, Renewables UK, Ofgem, National Grid, SNH and RSPB to name but a few. Stephen Timms MP announced £59 million worth of new captial grants for offshore wind farm development as part of the governments continued support for the UK offshore wind industry. This year we also introduced a new idea and expanded the scope of the conference with parallel workshops, which gave people an opportunity to really discuss the issues. The conference proceedings will be available to all delegates as an interactive CD-ROM which will be posted to all delegates before Christmas. More details will be online shortly.
